A measured method
Old letterboxes rarely fail in only one place. Moisture can sit behind paint, a loose hinge can distort a door, and unsuitable fixings can damage original brickwork. We begin by reading the whole assembly rather than covering the most visible defect. The proposed work is documented in plain language, with repair priorities and finish choices agreed before disassembly. Where original material can remain serviceable, it stays. Where a component has failed, its replacement is proportioned to the existing box and the character of the terrace.
